~ For those of you who don't know, Lover I Don't Have To Love has no guitar part.
However, for those acoustic guitar playing Bright Eyes Fans, these are the chords,
so you can still play along.~

These are the opening riffs that play before he starts singing but they are used throughout the song.
The song is a keyboard but it sounds good on guitar too.
e||--------0--------------------|--------0-------------------|----------------------||
B||-----1-----1p0---------3--1--|-----1-----1--0-------1-----|-------0----3---1-----||
G||--2---------------1----------|--2----------------------2--|--1--2----2---2-----1-||
D||---------------2-------------|----------------------------|----------------------||
A||-----------------------------|----------------------------|----------------------||
E||-----------------------------|----------------------------|----------------------||
The chord progression is really repetitive, which you may notice, but if you play
long with the song you'll see how it fits.
This is my updated tab, as i realized that the Am/B tab is wrong... the chord he
plays has no official name, so I am going to tab it below for everyone.
THE "Am/B" CHORD FOR THIS TAB
e|---0---|
b|---1---|
G|---2---|
D|---X---|
A|---2---|
E|---X---|
So basically you're only moving your second finger down one string from D
to A. If you mute the D sting with the same finger (the old guitar "dead chord" taboo)
then it will come out a lot nicer. Sorry about that, and enjoy!
Am Am/B C F
I picked you out Of a crowd to talk to you
Am Am/B
Said I liked your shoes
C F
You said thanks can I follow you?
Am Am/B C
