From: Michael Kennedy
this song was originally done by Cat Stevens, but I learned the song
from Rod Stewart off of the "night on the town" album. It is a very
easy three chord progression. The beginning is just "C" but adding the
"F" note every second strum.
"First Cut is The Deepest"
(Cat Stevens) (Rod Stewart)
Intro:
Finger Picking intro and 1st verse:

B----8----8-----7----7------5----5-----7------7 REPEAT
G-7----------7-----------5----------7----------
D---------------------------------------------------
A---------------------------------------------------
E---------------------------------------------------
A D-shape without index finger then a moveable=20
Aminor-shape gets the job done.
